Changan is set to launch the all-new Nevo Q05, its first global all-electric compact SUV, in November. Sold under the Deepal sub-brand in international markets, the Q05 is positioned as a direct competitor to the BYD Atto 3.

The Nevo Q05 is powered by a 120 kW electric motor and comes with two battery options developed in collaboration with Changan-CATL. The 40.3 kWh pack offers a CLTC range of 405 km, while the larger 51.9 kWh variant delivers up to 506 km, giving buyers flexibility depending on their range requirements.

The electric SUV showcases Changan’s latest “Digital Wing 2.0” design language, featuring bold two-storey headlights, a prominent active air intake, flush door handles, a single taillight strip, and a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof.

Measuring 4,435 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase, the Q05 is slightly smaller than the BYD Atto 3 but has a strong design presence.

The Q05 builds on the first-generation Nevo Q05 (Qiyuan Q05 in China), launched in 2023 as a plug-in hybrid based on the Changan CS55 Plus (Changan Uni-S). That model combined a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor for a total output of 212 hp and featured a 19 kWh battery.

Nevo, Changan’s sub-brand launched in August 2023, is focused on global electric mobility. The Q05 will be its first fully electric compact SUV for international markets. The Nevo lineup currently spans sedans, SUVs, and pickup trucks, including the A05, A07, Q05, Q07, E07, K50, and Lumin.
